2002 - Lleyton Hewitt became the first Australian in 15 years to win a Wimbledon tennis championship. He then became the first current champion to subsequently lose in the first round the following year
“We are proud to welcome Country and Western dance into the family of international LGBT sports competition,” said Tommy Kristoffersen, sports director for World Outgames 2009.
“Country and Western is hugely popular. We are sure it will be a hit with both participants and spectators at World Outgames,” said Tommy Kristoffersen.
The Country and Western tournament is being organized in cooperation with The International Association of Gay/Lesbian Country Western Dance Clubs.
