What is the Pink Guide?
Pink Guide consists of a variety of independent yet complimentary entities. Pink Guide; a publication of approximately 160 pages which is produced annually; www.pinkguide.com which is a globally based LGBTQ website catering to our community and featuring all six continents and the new Pink Guide e-book.
Pink Guide is both a directory for the local community and provider of tourist information for national and international visitors. www.pinkguide.com offers Pink Biz, a comprehensive business directory with 100's of businesses advertising to the LGBTQ community, as well as an incredible array of current and relevant information in the form of entertainment, news, travel, style, spots, business, finance and health etc.
What is an Account Manager?
Pink Guide is looking for salespeople to work in the community and for the community. The successful applicant will be responsible for sales and marketing of the website and its associated businesses. The position allows for flexibility of hours and remuneration is in the form of a 50% commission.
Those applying should possess the following criteria:
* Highly motivated & innovative thinker
* Computer literate (able to manage Microsoft Office applications)
* Have a neat and tidy appearance
* Excellent time management
* Excellent customer relations skills
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Strong organisational competencies
* Self-reliance and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
* A sales/service background would be highly regarded as would graphic design skills.
Specific responsibilities of the role will be:
* Develop relationships with businesses and community groups
* Develop and promote new revenue streams
* Make presentations to interested parties
* Follow up direct leads and bring new customers to the business
* Credit Control

What is a Corporate Partner?
As a Corporate Partner you have a designated territory, state or country and assume responsibility to produce sales and the development of your area.
An important pre-requisite would be a strong desire to be independent, excellent communication skills, confident sales abilities and a well developed sense of social justice.
You should enjoy meeting people and networking through local organisations. Creativity, people skills and a commitment to assisting advertisers on how to most effectively promote their message through a Pink Guide advertisement or an on-line marketing approach on www.pinkguide.com would be considered an asset.
An essential pre-requisite is a strong working knowledge of computer systems as the bulk of the day to day operations will be completed electronically.
Successful Corporate Partners come from all walks of life. Some have extensive business backgrounds, and some have never run a business before. If you work well with people, if you are passionate about building a business that means something, if you seek both personal and financial rewards then being a Corporate Partner could be for you.
It is understood that selected Corporate Partners will have had no previous experience before starting their first publication of Pink Guide. Pink Guide will provide step-by-step instruction and advice in all areas related to the production of the Guide. You are encouraged to share experiences so a collective knowledge culture is practised to the benefit of all. And of course we are available to respond to inquiries at any time

What would I be selling?

How long is the Contract Term?
Your initial contract term is for 1 year to ensure you feel 100% comfortable with product, earnings, management. A review for multiple extensions is available; this will be negotiated by both parties
Can I do this Part-Time?
Operating as a successful Corporate Partner requires your full-time effort. We require at least one person dedicated to full-time sales in your territory, state, country. This business is sales driven and production driven and to be approved as a Corporate Partner you will need to demonstrate a full-time commitment
Who determines the price of the ads?
Pink Guide will provide guidance based on population and the demographics in the area served and negotiate appropriate rates. However, the final price decision will at the discretion of the Corporate Head Office to ensure the best and fairest return to you and the advertiser.
How do you determine the territories?
From past experience, communities in excess of 100,000 can usually support a Pink Guide. This is also dependant on services available in the area, retail, accommodation, restaurants, tourist attractions, etc. Areas are available that would support multiple copies of the Pink Guide, i.e. larger population areas 1,000,000 plus.
How many territories can one Corporate Partner service?
Multiple. This however depends upon the organisational ability of Corporate Partner, their Business Model and area availability
Can I sell my area?
No. The initial contract period is 12 months, with a review for multiple extensions available, this will be negotiated by both parties
How long does it take before I can be up & running?
Usually within 1-2 months from the time you first enquire. Once you have researched this opportunity and been approved by Corporate Head Office, training will follow.
You are then ready to proceed with managing your territory.
Do you have special software to help me run my business?
Yes. Appropriate software (Microsoft suite) and a Customer Contact Database (we will help you with this)
How Much Will I Earn?
How much you earn is dependent upon a number of factors, such as how hard you work to build your business, your management skills, the location you choose, and several other factors. As is the case in any business venture, there is no guarantee of success. We provide you with what we feel are the best systems for success, training and the benefit of our years of publishing experience. We are truly only as successful as you are.
Pink Guide can tell you that managing a territory can be a very lucrative business if you follow the marketing and operating system provided to you
Selected Corporate Partners will be given information detailing operating and income examples, however earnings will be dependant upon you and your territory, state, country.
What will be my initial costs?
The low cost and the liberal start-up time allow you to have a positive cash flow from day one. There are no expensive programs required.
If you are responsible for a large territory, state or a country then an office space may be required.

What other costs are involved?
You are responsible for printing and distribution of the Pink Guide in your territory, state or country. Printing costs will be negotiated as a group and the most cost effective supplier will be utilised. Distribution will be in high traffic locations with high visibility. Examples would be shopping centres, malls, hotels, restaurants, airports, grocery stores, etc. It may be worth considering a distribution partner to rent “rack” space at various other targeted locations. Every market has similar but different distribution opportunities. We will assist you in putting together a first class distribution strategy.
