I have spent a total of 10 days over two trips along the coastline and in the hinterland of Southern Queensland’s Gold Coast region – and I’m convinced it’s the next gay travel hotspot for interstate as well as international visitors. The place is vibrant!
There’s so much to see and do, whether you’re after a gourmet indulgence or fitness through surfing, snorkeling, swimming, fishing or wellbeing spa treatments. There’s plenty of adrenalin and eco adventures, too, from spills and thrills at the multitude of theme parks, to placid paddling across to South Stradbroke Island.
Here’s the good news. There are 10 gay welcoming hotels and attractions who have sent a signal that they are serious about wanting lesbian and gay visitors to enjoy their hospitality. By joining IGLTA, becoming Rainbow Tourism Accredited and undergoing Gay Comfort training, they are not your average pink-dollar seeking operators.
To learn more about these places to stay and play, subscribe to the Gay Gold Coast blog, Facebook fan page, You Tube and Twitter, too.
